At the end of february two nice guys, Xavier Colomer and Toni quiles visted our offices at Ymbra in order to start a collaboration in order to redesign their event's website. We were really impressed by its name, 'Barcelona Developers Conference 2011', since we believed that anything named that way had to be something good for sure! We were seduced by the idea from the very first moment, so we decided to work with them.
WHAT'S 'BARCELONA DEVELOPERS CONFERENCE'?
‘Barcelona Developers Conference’ is an idea by a group of enterpreneurs who wanted to create an event aimed to developers, focused on software, mobile technology and robotics' topics. This conference also wants to serve as provider of toolsets to several social groups such as developers, students, companies, investors and Barcelona amongst others. (bcndevcon.org)
WHEN IS IT GOING TO TAKE PLACE?
The Conference will take place at Barcelona's Museu Marítim during 17th ,18th and 19th October 2011. The museum turns to be the perfect environment for this event, wich a capacity for 1,500 people and it fits with the conference motto: Sufring in the future. (bcndevcon.org)
WHAT DOES THE CONFERENCE OFFER?
- Learning opportunities
- Professional growth
- Job opportunities
- A place to communicate your project
- Meeting people and having fun
WHY IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CONFERENCES?
One of its key features is that most of its content will be created by the attendees themselves. Our goal is to have an event that fits attendees needs and in order to achieve that goal we have contacted different sectorial communities in order to get support by proposing sessions, communication and helping with the organisation. All the communities and members that are interested on it can sign up in our website: http://www.bcndevcon.org and propose, vote, discuss and promote sessions that may find more interesting to them by using a series of social tools that will configure the final content of the Conference. (bcndevcon.org)
At Ymbra we bet on Drupal 7 from the very beggining and bcndevcon.org did the same and are very happy with the results so far, so we encourage you to upgrade as well!
