A powerful fundraising and communication solution for MSF Spain
The client
Médicos Sin Fronteras (MSF) Spain is a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation. They provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Their teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistic and administrative staff. Their actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality.
The challenge
MSF Spain needed a new platform to solve several issues like lack of a good responsive design, information organization and a bunch of new features for a fundraising solution. We also moved all the content from the old site to the new one preserving URLs redirections.
The solution
The solution
We created a platform which could last for years, and that gave to the organization a big power for creating custom pages without having technical background and fundraising forms.
Page customization for non-technical editors
One of the most important features for the new website was to empower editors with an easy way to create, modify and customize any page or content on the site. We created a tool for editors that give them enough power to create a custom components library. This library can be placed in any page of the website, giving the possibility to customize layouts per page and mixing all of them with a SEO point of view.
Ease in creating new fundraising forms
The main request by the Fundraising Department was to have a platform which allows them to create any custom form linked to their internal CRM to make donations and/or allow users to become a partner. All forms were linked also to their internal submit workflow and payment methods.
Partner profile
We have developed a partner area where people that are already members could change their personal data, their commitment with the organization or make a on-time donation. They can also download the certificate for tax exemption and retrieve the historical data of their donations.
Migration
MSF Spain had a very large news and event database that had to be migrated into the new site. We helped them extract the data from the source, making some changes to normalize them, and then import this information to the new structure. It was a big challenge due the amount of news, images and documents to move between environments.
